STIESIA Surabaya and BAGORIN MSMEs Hold Supply Chain Management Training in Sidoarjo

 

SIDOARJO (stiesia.ac.id) – The Indonesian School of Economics (STIESIA) Surabaya organized a community service event aimed at enhancing supply chain management skills for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The event, titled Training and Mentoring of Supply Chain Management for Fried Onion Industry, was held in Tlasih Village, Tulangan District, Sidoarjo Regency, in collaboration with a local SME named “BAGORIN.”

This activity took place on November 14, 2024, and was attended by fried onion business owners from Tlasih Village. BAGORIN, a local SME focused on fried onion production, appreciated the community service initiative by the STIESIA Surabaya team, which directly impacted small business owners in the region.

The goal of this training was to provide participants with a deep understanding of the importance of supply chain management in supporting operational efficiency, raw material management, and product distribution to consumers.

The training and mentoring were attended by the Community Service Team from STIESIA, including Dr. Emeralda Ayu Kusuma, S.Sos., M.Si, Dr. Wahidahwati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., Rika Rahayu, S.M., M.B.A., Maratus Zahro, S.E., M.S.A., Dewi Maryam, S.E., M.M., Ardilla Ayu Kirana, S.A., M.A., Ak., and 2 students from the S1 Management program, Karina Inas and Surya Gilang Pramudita.

Representing the BAGORIN SME were Mr. Mohamad Yovi Ardiansa, S.T., his wife, and 10 employees.

The Head of the Community Service Team from STIESIA, Dr. Emeralda Ayu Kusuma, S.Sos., M.Si., explained that this activity is a form of STIESIA’s commitment to helping local entrepreneurs strengthen the foundation of their businesses.

“SMEs often face challenges in supply chain management that can affect product quality and availability. With this training, we hope the participants will be able to develop skills and strategies to minimize these challenges,” said Dr. Emeralda Ayu Kusuma, S.Sos., M.Si.

During the training sessions, participants were taught about supply chain concepts, inventory planning, logistics management, and the importance of raw material quality. Additionally, the STIESIA Community Service team also provided direct mentoring on strategies to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs in an increasingly competitive market.

The owner of BAGORIN fried onion business, Mr. Mohamad Yovi Ardiansa, S.T., expressed his gratitude for the mentoring provided by STIESIA. “We are very grateful. Besides gaining new knowledge, we now feel more confident in managing our business more effectively,” said Mohamad Yovi Ardiansa.

This activity is expected to have a sustainable impact on SMEs in Tlasih Village, especially for the fried onion entrepreneurs, who represent a key local product in the Sidoarjo region.
